Zeroing

I recently went to the range with my cousin, he has an old SKS, nothing fancy. He never zeroed it, so we went to the bench and started at 100 meters, I forgot how fun it was zeroing with iron sights, first time I zeroed a rifle was in the Army, an M-16 A1. With all the optics available today it has been awhile since I iron sighted a target, I was a little rusty but it is kinda like riding a bike. I'm sure people would agree that keeping your weapons especially rifles, zeroed is a good idea in case the optics get damaged and are inoperable. Anyways it was fun even though the range had a maximum of 250, after some adjustments we had nice grouping on the targets, numerous consistent head shots, now if I can control my breathing and trigger squeeze, I might get better.

Always good to keep necessary skills in tune. I'll admit to letting my range skills slack off. Good reminder to get back to the basics often.

I'm going to commit myself to a "tune up" before the weather gets too hot here.

Just needing some plinking time with a .22 and my 45. Also have a 30-30 with a new scope that needs dialed in. Good reminder.

Yes sir, a little tune up is a good idea. I used to be able to put a cleaning rod down the barrel of my Bushmaster and balance a washer or dime on the end ( Dime and Washer Drill ), then dry fire and see if it will stay on. It is easier in the prone position than standing for sure. Helps with breathing and trigger squeeze, I'm a little shaky now at 52 lol.
